I think that the director is trying to convey that this person is being tested on in an environment where she is trapped. In the photo we see a character - a young teenage girl is wearing a hospital outfit,which shows she could be in a hospital or a lab because of the background white walls (Setting).The head piece she is wearing (prop) shows that it has something to do with sci-fi. The background is a very dull room and plain white so we can focus more on the girl and so she stands out more.

Costume:

In the photo we can see that the girl is wearing a white gown which looks like a hospital outfit. The colour white has connotations of cleans, purity and youth. The outfit also has no stains or impurities on it meaning she has not had much connection or socialisation. The head piece she wears appears to be doing something to the girl's brain.

Lighting:

In the photo we can see very intense light on the can and the girl whereas in the back its not as bright. This allows the main focus to remain on the subject and not as much on the background although we still see most of it.

Actor:

The actor in the photo isn't very clear gender wise. It may be a girl or boy but from what we know its a girl. The girl has a very focused/determined look on her face. She has her hands placed on the table with a grip which means that she could be held captive or someone is putting pressure on her.

Makeup and Hair:

In the photo we can see that the girl looks very focused and she is looking directly at the can and putting all her focus towards it. This allows us the sense she may be doing something to the can considering the head piece. Also, the girl has a bald head and that isn't very common in girls which further highlights the sci-fi in the photo.

Props:

One of the props in the photo is a can of coke. The colour red is a very pigmented colour and is the only colourful item in the room meaning it has all the attention focused on it. We can see the girl is staring at the can with very focused eyes and this also allows us to focus on the can as well. the head piece they have used shows us the sci-fi in the image and helps us identify what the film could be about.

Setting:

In the background of the photo, we can see a square white wall meaning she isnt in a very urban place. The white of the wall shows she may be in a hospital or lab or psych ward.
