BBC and Industries: blog task

1) What is the BBC's mission statement?

-The BBC's mission is set out in the Charter. The broadcaster is to "act in the public interest, serving all audiences through the provision for impartial high-quality and distinctive output and services which inform, educate and entertain.“


2) How is the BBC funded?

-Its work is funded principally by an annual television licence fee which is charged to all British households, companies, and organisations using any type of equipment to receive or record live television broadcasts or to use the BBC's streaming service, iPlayer.


3) What must the BBC do to meet its public service broadcasting responsibilities? (Look at the five bullet points in the notes above)

-The BBC should provide duly accurate and impartial news, current affairs and factual programming to build peoples understanding to all parts of the UK and of the wider world. its content should be provided tot he highest editorial standards.



4) Who is the regulator for TV and Radio in the UK? You can find details on this in the notes above.

-The regulator for TV and Radio is the OFCOM


5) How is TV and Radio regulated by Ofcom? 

-They set the appropriate shows and programs for the appropriate timing.


-6) How do Doctor Who and His Dark Materials help the BBC to meet the BBC's remit to inform, educate and entertain? Answer this question in at least 150 words.

They provide the viewers with free entertainment and meet the audiences standards.
